NALDA Partners Origin Tech to Enhance Nigeria’s Agricultural Productivity

by AgroNigeria

The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) and Origin Tech Group are collaborating to enhance Nigeria’s agricultural productivity through the Greener Hope Large Scale Mechanisation Programme.

This federal government initiative seeks to address food insecurity by modernising the agricultural sector with advanced farming machinery and establishing medium to large-scale model farms as agricultural hubs.

According to NALDA’s Executive Secretary, Cornelius Oluwasegun Adebayo, the programme will empower farmers, create job opportunities, and boost food production.

He emphasized that the partnership will help improve rural prosperity by curbing rural-urban migration, especially among the youth.

He also underscored the critical role of public-private partnerships in achieving nationwide agricultural transformation.

Musa Olasupo, Director of Programs for Greener Hope, outlined steps for launching model farms across Nigeria, aimed at ensuring the country’s agricultural sector achieves self-sufficiency.

He acknowledged that Nigeria faces challenges like insecurity, climate change, and smuggling, which threaten food security.

However, the Greener Hope programme will address these issues by providing the infrastructure necessary for large-scale farming and higher yields.

Samuel J. Samuel, Executive Chairman of Origin Tech Group, highlighted that the partnership is key to unlocking Nigeria’s agricultural potential. By combining mechanisation and land development, the programme is set to enhance food security and drive long-term economic growth.

He noted that the collaboration will introduce modern farm machinery, improve post-harvest management, and transform Nigeria’s agricultural landscape for sustainable productivity.
