AFAN Inaugurates New Leadership in Oyo

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Oyo State Chapter, recently inaugurated its newly appointed executives to uphold and advance administrative policies. Mr. Abass Adewumi has assumed the role of the new Chairman.

During the inauguration ceremony held on Saturday 11th November 2023, at the International Conference Centre, UI, Ibadan, AFAN National President, Alhaji Rabiu Mudi, represented by Engr. John Olateru, the outgoing State Chairman and the current National Vice President, affirmed that AFAN would persist in fostering a conducive environment for all investors in the agricultural sector.

In his inaugural address themed “Elevating Agriculture and Agribusiness: A Vision for a Prosperous Oyo State,” the new chairman outlined several objectives to achieve during his tenure. These include fostering collaboration for growth, promoting quality and exports, enhancing rural infrastructure and connectivity, empowering youths and women, strengthening agribusiness, and providing support through capacity building and financial assistance.

Notable attendees at the swearing-in event included representatives of the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, representatives from both the Federal and State Ministries of Agriculture, officials from other government agencies, representatives from farmers’ groups, and various stakeholders.
