Few hours after President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babagana Zulum promised enhanced security for farmers in their independence messages, in Ngoshe Community, Gwoza Local Government area of Borno State, Boko Haram terrorists slaughtered five farmers and abducted 15 others, including children, women, and the elderly.
A reliable source lamented, “We sorrowfully announce the abduction of about 15 farmers. The attack resulted in the death of CJTF member Jubril Zarana and five other civilians.”
The source further revealed that Jubril Dada Zarana was killed while defending his people, and five other civilians, including Isa Musa Moh’d Diyara, Doglas, Salawuddin Suleman Dauda Lawan, Maryam Gwambran, Matan Kaka Mobil Aga, and Baba Amos, were slaughtered by the terrorists.
The Boko Haram terrorists released three women captives, who reported that the remaining hostages, including Anna Andrew Gadzawaga, Hauwa Braga, and two unidentified young boys, are still being held.
The community is calling for urgent action to address the ongoing insecurity and humanitarian crisis in the region.
“Our people are severely suffering due to lack of essential life support. Neither the government nor NGOs are providing them with food supplies. The little farming they do to survive, they have to put their lives on the line in order to harvest what they have planted”.
