The Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Abdullahi, has stressed the need to strengthen Nigeria’s food production systems to achieve food sufficiency.
Speaking at the Strategy Co-Creation Workshop for Stakeholders, organized by the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister underscored the importance of supporting farmers and increasing the supply of staple foods, including rice, wheat, etc.
“Our goal is to empower farmers and enhance our production system to meet the nation’s food demands,” Abdullahi stated.
He also called on stakeholders present to share ideas and recommendations to help drive sustainable agricultural practices and improve food availability.
“We urge stakeholders to provide insights on effective strategies that will help us achieve national food security,” he added.
The workshop, themed “Alliances for Sustainable Agricultural Land Development & Food Security,” provided a platform for key players in the sector to discuss policies and innovations aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity in Nigeria.
