NSCDC Intercepts Trucks Carrying Suspected Rustled Cows in Zamfara

The NSCDC in Zamfara State stopped two trucks carrying suspected stolen cows from Tsafe to Damba in Gusau.

State Commandant, Sani Mustapha shared ongoing efforts to fight crime and revealed they seized 24 cows and one sheep during transportation from Tsafe to Gusau.

Mustapha stressed that the suspects planned to sneak the livestock into Gusau at night, unloading them in the Damba Area on December 31, 2023, around 7 p.m.

“The suspects, who wanted to smuggle the cows to Gusau at night, decided to offload the cows at Damba Area, a suburb of Gusau, at about 7 p.m. on December 31, 2023.”

“Working on intelligent reports, the Corps confronted the suspects, and on sighting the officers, they took to their heels. The cows were conveyed in two canter trucks with plate numbers TSF 329 SA Zamfara and AG 160 BW Abuja, respectively.”

Commandant Sani Mustapha reported that the cows were given to the Ministry for Security and Home Affairs in the state.

He cautioned criminals to avoid actions against the state’s policies in the fight against insecurity, aligning with Governor Dr. Lawal Dauda’s directives.

Notably, the state government had prohibited cow sales in certain areas, including Tsafe Local Government Area, where these cows were believed to have been transported.
