RHI South-West Scheme: Firm Donates 1000 Five-week-old Noiler Birds to Rural Women

Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited has partnered with the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to launch the Southwest Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Women Agricultural Support Programme and donated 1000 five-week-old Noiler Birds to empower rural women and boost food security in the  Southwest  region.

As part of the initiative, each beneficiary received 12.5kg of Amo Byng Grower Pellet as start-up packs for small poultry farming, along with a pack of Divertamin, a combination of essential nutrients for the Noiler Birds’ optimum growth and production.

The presentation of the Noiler Birds took place at the unveiling of the RHI South-West scheme in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Tuesday, 17th April 2024, where Governor Dapo Biodun of Ogun State commended Amo Farm’s partnership with the state in promoting agriculture through empowerment initiatives.

Dr. Ayoola Oduntan, Group Managing Director of Amo Farm, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to women’s involvement in agribusiness through Noiler farming for food security, poverty eradication, and provision of animal protein to curb malnutrition.

The Noiler breed, launched in 2014 after years of research and development, is resistant to diseases and produces four times more eggs and three times more meat than native chickens. It aims to increase productivity and income for rural women, empower them through job creation, and provide animal protein to solve the problem of malnutrition in Africa.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, National Chairperson of the RHI, highlighted that the scheme, launched in February 2024 under the theme “Making Life Better for Families,” aims to motivate women in agriculture for productive impact, aligning with the Federal Government’s food security programme. She announced grants of N500,000 for 20 women each in agriculture, fishing, and animal husbandry from each state of the South-west, with 100 persons with disabilities receiving N100,000 each.

The event was attended by First Ladies of the Southwest States, dignitaries, and royal fathers from across the country.
