President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has encouraged Nigerians to focus on agriculture and industrial development as key drivers of the country’s future growth.

Speaking during a national broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary, the President said the nation has the capacity to build a stronger economy if its people make effective use of available natural and human resources.

He emphasized the importance of returning to the basics by investing in the land and supporting local production.

“We must cultivate our farms, establish industries, and promote our creative talents to build a thriving economy,” Tinubu said.

In his address, the President also called for unity among the people, pointing out that progress depends on collective effort regardless of ethnic or religious background.

He described Nigeria’s diversity as a strength, not a weakness, and urged citizens to see it as a foundation for cooperation rather than division.

Tinubu restated his administration’s commitment to improving critical infrastructure, expanding job opportunities, and ensuring stable food supplies.

He acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices Nigerians have made and gave assurances that these contributions would lead to a better and more stable future.

He also encouraged every Nigerian to take an active role in shaping the country’s development path, especially through practical contributions in agriculture, manufacturing, and the creative economy.
