President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, who marked his birthday on January 15, commending his long years of public service and contributions to national development.
In his message, the President paid tribute to Kyari’s political journey, describing him as a seasoned statesman whose career has been shaped by commitment to leadership and service to the country.
He recalled Kyari’s time in the National Assembly, where he served both in the House of Representatives and as a two term Senator, as well as his earlier role as acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.
President Tinubu also reflected on Kyari’s service in Borno State, where he held commissioner positions across several ministries.
According to him, that period was marked by versatility, administrative capacity and a strong sense of responsibility to the people.
Turning attention to the present, the President noted that Kyari has brought fresh thinking to the agriculture sector under the Renewed Hope agenda.
He said the minister’s push for mechanisation and modern farming practices has helped reposition agriculture as a driver of food availability, job creation and economic stability.
The President observed that ongoing reforms and policy measures under Kyari’s leadership have supported efforts to reduce food inflation, steady market prices and strengthen agricultural value chains across the country.
He added that these steps are helping to make farming more attractive and commercially rewarding.
Tinubu further acknowledged initiatives aimed at drawing young Nigerians into agriculture, describing them as steps that are cultivating a new generation of farmers who see agriculture as a sustainable means of livelihood rather than a last resort.
The President concluded by offering prayers for good health, renewed strength and wisdom for Senator Kyari as he continues to pursue the goal of food sufficiency and agricultural growth for the nation.
