The Federal Government (FG) has taken steps to assist farmers in Osun state by establishing marketing boards to facilitate the buying and selling of their agricultural produce.
This initiative aims to combat hunger and boost food production in the region.
This information was revealed by Mr. Sunday Atoyebi, the Osun State Director of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, during an interview with journalists in Osogbo on Monday. He elaborated on the government’s multifaceted approach to achieving food security.
He also said that the federal government has consistently trained farmers in modern agriculture to boost food production.
In his words: “We have sent out extension agents to train farmers in modern agriculture (mechanisation) because we believe farming has evolved and that farming with the same method and bringing the same result will not help the present situation.
“In addition, the FG has also established marketing boards to assist farmers in selling their produce.
