Brig Gen Mohamed Marwa (rtd), Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has secured a N120 million fertilizer donation to support Borno State farmers affected by recent flooding in Maiduguri.
Marwa, a former military governor of the old Borno State, visited Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum and the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanem, to condole with the state.
“As a concerned Nigerian, I’m moved by the magnitude of the flood disaster,” Marwa said. “This may be the worst natural disaster to hit a single city in Nigeria’s history.”
He facilitated the donation through a fertilizer company, providing 10 trailer loads of high-yield fertilizers to aid farmers’ quick return to farming and prevent famine.
Governor Zulum and the Shehu thanked Marwa for his support.
