Agric Ministry Gets New Perm Sec, Fashedemi 

Mr. Temitope Peter Fashedemi has been appointed Permanent Secretary for the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (FMAFS) following the recent redeployment of Permanent Secretaries by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF).

Mr. Fashedemi is the immediate past Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and has served in various capacities at ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, as well as the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NIRA). He holds an Executive MBA in Business Administration and Management from Lagos Business School.

During a brief handover ceremony held at the FMAFS Conference Room on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Mr. Fashedemi expressed appreciation for the warm reception from Ministers and staff of the Ministry. He reiterated his commitment to advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda for the agricultural sector, emphasizing its role as one of the top four priority areas of the present administration in terms of food security, job creation, poverty alleviation, and economic growth.

He promised to carry all stakeholders along in the realization of the stated objectives, saying, “I am a team player, and as a family, we are better positioned to achieve the mandate of the Ministry.”

He urged directors to actively support the ministers in realizing their core objective, which is to achieve food sufficiency and enhance economic growth.
