Govt Issues 24-hour Eviction Notice to Livestock Rearers Under Lagos bridge

by AgroNigeria

In a renewed effort to sanitize public spaces, the Lagos State Government has uncovered an illegal livestock rearing operation under the Oja Oba Underbridge at Adeniji Adele, prompting a 24-hour eviction notice to all squatters in the area.

The revelation came during a clearance operation led by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who described the occupation as a blatant misuse of public infrastructure with serious environmental and security implications.

Sharing a video from the scene on X, Wahab stated, “It is alarming to find livestock being reared under a public bridge. This poses significant risks and will not be tolerated.”

With immediate effect, all unauthorized structures and makeshift shelters must be cleared within 24 hours, or enforcement actions will follow.

Furthermore, the Lagos State Government remains committed to reclaiming public spaces, ensuring order, and preventing illegal activities that compromise the city’s urban development and environmental health.
