As part of efforts to tackle food security challenges, a Member of the House of Representatives for Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency in Benue State, Terseer Ugbor has distributed farm inputs to women and widows.
This initiative is designed to encourage more women to engage in farming and increase agricultural productivity.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on Gender and Wellness, Ugbor highlighted the pressing need to support women in agriculture, citing the country’s ongoing food security challenges and the vital role women can play in addressing them.
Ugbor also expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the necessary leadership and creating an environment that enables the fulfillment of campaign promises.
He noted that the farm inputs, which include assorted fertilizers, knapsack sprayers, farm chemicals, and other essential tools, were provided by the President to help mitigate food insecurity in Nigeria.
The beneficiaries, numbering 100 female farmers, commended Ugbor for his timely intervention and pledged their support for his ongoing efforts.
