To address insecurity and advance key sectors such as agriculture, education, healthcare, and youth development, the Sokoto State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening its partnership and strengthening ties with the Government of Hungary.

The government made this known during a visit by a high-level Hungarian delegation led by State Secretary Tristan Azbej, who was in the state to enhance cooperation and deepen collaboration in agriculture, education, healthcare, and other areas of development.

Governor Aliyu, while appreciating Hungary’s support to Sokoto State, stated that his administration has invested significant resources and taken strategic steps to tackle insecurity and foster a conducive environment for development.

He noted that the state has launched its own security outfit to complement the efforts of conventional security agencies in combating banditry, adding that this collaboration is already yielding remarkable results.

Speaking during the visit, Hungarian State Secretary and head of the delegation, Mr. Tristan Azbej, revealed that over the past five years, the Hungarian government has invested more than one million dollars in education, healthcare, agriculture, and other developmental initiatives in Sokoto State.
