The Yobe State Government has demonstrated its readiness to collaborate with the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on an agricultural development initiative designed to enhance food security and promote economic growth.
During a courtesy visit to Governor Mai Mala Buni in Damaturu, the IsDB’s Senior Agriculture Specialist, Mr. Javed Khan, praised the state’s dedication and preparedness for the project.
“Initially, we were cautious about coming to Yobe due to concerns about security.
However, we are highly impressed by the peace, stability, and the government’s strong commitment to this initiative,” Khan stated.
The project aims to secure approval within three months, with close collaboration between the IsDB team and the state government ensuring steady and timely progress.
Governor Buni emphasized the critical role of agriculture in Yobe’s recovery efforts following years of insurgency, highlighting the resilience of its citizens in reviving farming activities.
“This collaboration will ensure food security and economic growth for our people, who have turned to agriculture as a means of rebuilding their livelihoods,” Buni stated.
