Delta Begins Farmers’ Verification Across LGs  to Establish Credible Database

by AgroNigeria

The Delta State Government has launched a verification and validation exercise for registered farmers across the state to establish a credible and updated database for future interventions.

Led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the exercise will run from Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 28, 2025.

According to a statement by Theresa Adiabua Oliko, Director of Public Communication and Functioning Permanent Secretary, the process will involve Agricultural Field and Extension Officers visiting farms to capture relevant details, including GPS coordinates of farm locations.

The government has called on Local Government Chairmen, Traditional Rulers, Presidents-General, Women, and Youth Leaders to mobilize farmers in their communities for active participation. Registered farmers must provide their National Identification Number (NIN) during verification.

However, an additional registration phase will be scheduled for those who missed previous opportunities. For more information, farmers are encouraged to contact the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
