Osun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Tola Faseru, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investors to thrive, especially in the agricultural sector.
Faseru made the statement during a meeting in Abuja, where over 32 ambassadors and diplomats gathered to discuss the agricultural potential of Osun and how it can attract foreign investment.
The meeting, held in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aimed to explore ways to tap into Osun’s agricultural opportunities.
Faseru also announced that the state would host an Agricultural Investment Conference in April, as part of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration’s efforts to harness the sector’s potential.
“We are committed to creating an enabling environment for investors to thrive,” Faseru stated.
Senator Lere Oyewumi also spoke at the gathering, noting that Osun is an agricultural hub in southwestern Nigeria with a positive business environment.
He assured potential investors that the state had made strides in addressing infrastructure deficits and had created favorable policies to promote agro-industrialisation. “Osun is open for business,” Oyewumi said, added
In their remarks, Ambassadors, including Mohsen Anlit of Tunisia and Miriam Morales of Cuba, pledged to visit Osun and encourage their respective private sectors to participate in the conference.
Ambassador Bolaji Akinremi of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, alongside Mrs. Adenike Adeleke, Commissioner for Federal Affairs in Osun, confirmed that official invitations for the conference would be sent to diplomatic missions in Nigeria, so as to ensure massive international participation.
